Day 1: Hue – A Luoi – Hamburger Hill – Homestay in A Roang village ~ 100 km

AM: Depart at your hotel in Hue at 8.00 am, you will be transferred to A Luoi about 70 km. Along the way from Hue to A Luoi you can see natural beauty and minority people in Highland Mountain as well as minority group. Spending 2 hours on car, the first impression for you is the neglected natural scenery, which existed beside a long time with the old forests, partitions of mountain, deep chasm and the pure stream flowing around the whirlpool. After having a short rest, you start to visit a well-known military site in the war between America and Vietnam – Hamburger Hill (nickname 937 Hill) by trekking. The driver will drive you to the foot of the Hill, after that you trek systematically to the top of the hill for enjoyment and discovering. From the top of this hill, you can see the whole sight of the airport and the combat base. Back to A Luoi Centre and have lunch at local restaurant.

PM: In the afternoon, you will continue your way to A Roang commune, one of community based villages of A Luoi district. On arrival at Aka - Achi village in A Roang. On arrival in A Roang, visit the patriarch of village and listen to stories about the history and culture of the local Ta Oi ethnic group. Experience the traditional handicraft of Det Dzeng textile weaving with locals, to witness how the women weave their dresses or even admire the way they thread yarns on looms with their best tenacious efforts. Here you also have chance to relax at A Roang Hot Spring for more leisure. Check in your homestay. Have dinner with local cuisine made from Ta Oi people. Evening is your free time to explore night life here, walk around the village or talk with locals for cultural exchange. Overnight at homestay.

Day 2: Visit DMZ – Transfer to Hue ~ 330 km

AM: You get up early in this morning to experience the activities and morning life of local people as well as enjoy the fresh air in the mountain area. Have breakfast at your homestay. Then you leave A Roang for DMZ on Ho Chi Minh Trail for visiting Dakrong Bridge, the starting point of Highway 15, one of the main branches of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. This is an opportunity for you to meet ethnic people in the highlight of Viet Nam Central like Ka Tu, Van Kieu, Paco in their villages to know about their customs and ways of living. Then visit Khe Sanh combat base – one of the most famous sieges of American Vietnamese War and was the site of a United State base that fell under attack in early 1968. You see the old airfield of red dirt stills remain. Enter to the museum of Ta Con airport to see the things in nature of the fierce war, and how hard Quang Tri people fight against the enemy! Reach to the Rock pile described as 230 high-piles of rocks, an observation point of US Troops in the pass. Coming to this place, tourists would see a vast mountain standing on an unequaled position. Have lunch at restaurant in Dong Ha.

PM: In the afternoon, the DMZ tour will take you back to the war sites including Hien Luong bridge, crosses the Ben Hai River at the middle of the DMZ and marks the former border between North and South Vietnam from 1954 to 1972. Take a stop at museum to see the exhibition of historic objects during the war. Then visit Vinh Moc tunnels – a network of tunnels built by villagers seeking shelter from bombings during the Vietnam War, and here is the place where an entire village lived for two and a half years. Visiting these tunnels, you can see and admire the specialty of Vietnamese people in the war, in this complex grew to including wells, kitchens, and rooms for each family and spaces for healthcare. Back to Hue city. Tour ends at your hotel.
