Mekong Delta Tour in 2 days leads you to discover the special features in the Southern Vietnam. Taking this tour, you have a chance to get on a boat ride through the fertile islands of The Upper Mekong River to feel the rowing boat trips under the shadow of the water coconut trees, to taste the seasonal fruits in the orchard. You also join in Cai Rang Floating Market which is at its busiest at this time of day for new exploration and experience.
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh – My Tho – Ben Tre – Can Tho
Am: At 8.00 am, our guide and driver welcome you at hotel. Today you will leave Ho Chi Minh for My Tho Province and have a smooth one-and-half-hour drive through beautiful rice field scenery along Trung Luong Express Highway. On arrival, you will visit Vinh Trang pagoda, the greatest pagoda of My Tho city, Tien Giang Province. About 1km from the city center, this pagoda is an ancient southern architectural gem. The beautiful architecture of it is a harmonious combination of Asian and European types of architecture. Continue to take a boat along Tien river to explore Delta region, see the stilt houses and fruit plantations on the way cruise down. Proceed to Tortoise island and have lunch in the local restaurant.
Pm: After lunch, you will enjoy a boat ride on a hand-rowed sampan under the shadow of the water coconut trees along natural canals. Next, visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste the delicious coconut candy and know more of their daily life. Especially, you’ll get a real sense of the charm and tranquility of the area when enjoying seasonal fruit, honey tea and “Southern Vietnamese folk music” performed by the locals. A horse-drawn carriage is also an interesting experience that you shouldn’t miss before leaving this area. Then you leave for Can Tho. On arrival, check in your hotel. Free to have your dinner. At night, you are free to explore Can Tho City by yourself with Ninh Kieu famous boat pier. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Visit Cai Rang Floating Market & back to Ho Chi Minh
Am: In this early morning, about 05:00 am you will make a boat trip on Mekong River to visit Cai Rang Floating Market in the morning to enjoy the purchasing activities on boat of local people in Mekong Delta. Next, go on cruising via small channels to visit rice noodle making villages. Mekong floating market is a specialty of Mekong delta so coming there you can enjoy the daily life of local people and variety of Vietnamese customs. Spend time for having lunch.
Pm: After lunch, you will be transferred head back Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive your hotel at around 6.00 pm. Tour ends at your hotel.
