CYCLING TO MEKONG DELTA / 3 DAYS

Itinerary:

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh – Vinh Long. (L, D)

At 8.00 am our guide and driver will transfer you about 2 hours from hotel in Ho Chi MInh to My Tho for our boat trip. Late morning we will cruise across the busy branches of the Mekong and boat into the quiet canals. Then we make a tour for enjoying sightseeing on island. You will have chance to visit a traditional Mekong delta house and kitchen, taste seasonal fruit with tea and honey. You also have time to visit local rice wine brewery and try wine. After that we paddle on a small sampan along arroyos. Have break for lunch. After having leisurely, this afternoon we will ride 2 hours on bicycle on small dirt road, walk bridges and cross local ferry in order to onto Cai Be. We make a boarding on boat for the floating market and cruise over the mighty Mekong River (~ 1.5km wide) to Binh Hoa Phuoc and An Binh Island. We will have wonderful time to enjoy a great sunset view from the Mekong River which we will not have other chance to see anymore other places. Have dinner and overnight at a guesthouse on island.

Day 2: Vinh Long – Can Tho. (B, L, D)

Have breakfast, and then make cycling about half an hour to cross under natural green canopy to the ferry crossing for Vinh Long. Next we have much more ride on bicycle to Can Tho. This depends on our group cycling ability; our guide will tailor a special route for this day to visit and pass villages of brick kiln, terracotta and pottery kiln or ride on immense rice fields and cycle through numerous rural riverside villages. We will taste lunch at local place. After lunch and have a short break, our bus picks you up to Can Tho city. On arrival Can Tho, check in hotel. Then we have free time to make a walking along city quay or you can have more cycling along Can Tho River bank. Have dinner at restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Can Tho.

Day 3: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh. (B, L)

In the early morning we will make a boat trip to Cai Rang Floating Market to see the daily purchase activity of local people. Then we have more cruises up a quiet canal on winding arroyos to know more about activities on this delta. It will take us about 2 hours for riding to countryside to enjoy the beautiful Delta sceneries and that we can also see other local people ride bicycle as ours. After having lunch, we will leave Can Tho and head back to Ho Chi Minh. End of tour at hotel in Ho Chi Minh.

What to bring: Passport with a valid visa, sun hat, sunglasses, sun cream, insect repellent, good shoes, camera with lots of films.
