SA PA MODERATE TREK
Sapa is a beautiful former French hill-station, at an altitude of 1,650m this town boasts warm days and cool evenings. Nowadays it is still a popular destination due to its beautiful scenery of the mountain and the valleys surrounding. Moreover, Sapa are home to several Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minority groups, each with their own distinctive dress, customs and dialects. Sa pa is also renowned for its trekking. With Vietnam’s highest peak, Fansipan Mountain (3,143 meters) provides the perfect backdrop for some great treks. Some of the villages now have local home stays where you can overnight with a family in their traditional home. Itinerary in brief:
- Day 1: Arrive Lao Cai – Sa Pa. Visit Ta Phin Village & Cat Cat village. Overnight in Sapa (BL)
- Day 2: Sa Pa – Lao Chai – Ta Van village & home stay (B L D)
- Day 3: Giang Ta Chai – Home stay in Ban Ho village (B L D)
- Day 4: Ho village – Su Pan – Sa Pa – Lao Cai & Night train back Hanoi (B L)
The night before: You will be transferred to Ha Noi Train Station for taking night train to Lao Cai Town at 8.30 pm. You will share AC soft sleeper of cabin number 4. Spend night on train
Day 1: Arrive Lao Cai – Sa Pa. Visit Ta Phin Village & Cat Cat village (B L)
Am: The train arrives Lao Cai Train Station at 5:30 a.m. Then the driver and guide take you to Sa Pa town via the clouds. On arrival Sa Pa town you will stop at mini hotel for a morning shower and have breakfast. Sapa, a highland town around with the covering clouds like a picture make you to have an interesting feeling when you step your foot to get it wonderfully by your eyes. You will begin by trekking around Sa Pa town to visit Sapa Morning Market to see the noisy life of local people and get more knowledge of culture through products of minority people. Then you will then take a car from Sa Pa to Ta Phin Village to visit Red Dao people and handicraft shops. You also trek through excellent panoramas of terraced rice fields, bamboo ranges and many minority villages. Then come back to Sapa Town by car. Have lunch at restaurant.
Pm: This afternoon, you continue visiting Cat Cat village with beautiful landscapes and more experiences of tribe people here with black H’mong people family and discover their real life. You will walk down to the waterfall and Hydrogen power station built by French. At Cat Cat village, there is also traditional music show of minority people. You can has a chance to enjoy for more understanding of their cultures. Back Sapa town by car. Free to have your own dinner at restaurant. Then you can visit Sapa night market to see the specific activity feature of this highland. Overnight at hotel in Sapa.

Day 2: Sa Pa – Lao Chai – Homestay in Tavan village (BLD)
Am: After your breakfast at hotel, you will start your walking day tour to Lao Chai, a village of Black H’mong ethnic minority. Lao Chai is nestled in Muong Hoa Valley, at the foot of the impressive Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range and surrounded by rice terraces. You will cross Muong Hoa River on hanging bridge to reach Lao Chai Village. You would visit to village school and a local house to learn about the H’mong life and culture. Sapa and surrounding is a very beautiful place of ladder rice paddy fields. Coming there on harvest with yellow of ripe rice or green when rice is growing, you will have impressive pictures of this famous town of Vietnam. Especially the clouds around mountain as a drawing picture add the beauty of Sapa in real life. You will have lunch beside a flowing waterfall.
Pm: Continue walking to Ta Van Village where the Giay ethnic minority lives. Check in homestay. This is one of the best ways for you to learn about minority people culture directly. Here you have a chance to make acquainted to friendly ethnic people as well as know their lifestyle in the mountainous area. Here you will stay overnight in a local house and enjoy a delicious dinner cooked by your tour guide. Overnight in homestay of Ta Van village.

Day 3: Giang Ta Chai – Homestay in Ban Ho village (BLD)
Am: Today’s trek is short, but still the landscape is beautiful. Once you get energy for your last day trek after having breakfast with delicious cake made by minority people to taste their foods, you leave for Giang Ta Chai village where you can take a rest nearby a waterfall to enjoy the surroundings. You will continue walking through a bamboo forest, and when you have passed the forest you find a nice place to enjoy lunch. Walk ahead up to Giang Ta Chai village to meet the red Zdao tribe.
Pm: After lunch, you will trek up and down hill jungle and pass the Muong Hoa River. Arrival Ban Ho village, there live the Tay tribes with their special wooden houses on stills, which are sure to amaze you. Check in and spend your second night homestay in the Tay family. Have dinner with minority people of Tay family. This night you have once more night to enjoy and meet other ethnic people in Sapa and have more experiences of the variety in their cultures and customs. Overnight in homestay Ho Village.

Day 4: Ban Ho village – Su Pan – Sa Pa – Lao Cai & Night train back Hanoi (BL)
Am: Get up early to enjoy the fresh air on the mountain and more experiences of activities in morning of local people. After your breakfast at stilt house, you start your day trip to trek up to Su Pan where you have more chance to explore and experience the daily life of the village H’mong ethnic minority as well as take a refreshing swim in a local river. Driver takes you to the hotel to have time for shower and relax. Have lunch at restaurant
Pm: In the late afternoon ,transfer you back Lao Cai train station. Free to have your dinner in restaurant near train station. Get on train back Ha Noi. Spend night on train.
Next morning : You will arrive in Ha Noi ~ 5.00 am. Please find your own way back to your hotel, a taxi normally costs you a set of 50,000 VND.
