Day 2: Phnom Penh Historical & Cultural Tours. O/n in Phnom Penh
Am: Have breakfast at hotel. We drive to visit Wat Phnom, is the most significant of all the temples in Phnom Penh. The Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda, located within the grounds of the Royal Palace. The Royal Palace of Cambodia is a complex of buildings although it is generally understood to be the royal abode of the King of Cambodia. The National Museum, one of Phnom Penh's true architectural gems, it houses more than 14,000 items; the World’s largest collection of Khmer Art, including sculptures, ceramics, bronzes, and ethnographic objects dating from prehistoric times to periods before, during and after the Khmer Empire. Have lunch at the restaurant.
Pm: Afternoon, you visit the notorious Killing Fields "ChoeungEk" 15km southwest of Phnom Penh. This one is the site of brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of who first suffered through interrogations, torture and deprivation in ToulSleng Prison during Pol Pot regime (From 1975–1979). Continue your visit to TuolSleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison). This prison was a high school, and used as a prison by Pol Pot's security forces and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Free to have your own dinner. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Phnom Penh – Transfer to Siem Reap. O/n in Siem Reap
Am: After breakfast, our driver will pick you up and transfer to Mekong Public Bus Station departing @ 07:30, 08:30amto Siem Reap with 6 hours drives. After 4 hours, bus will reach Kampong Thom and stop at Arunras Restaurant about 40 minutes for you to have your own food, snack or use restroom before continue to Siem Reap with 2 another hour drives. Upon arrival Siem Reap, meet and transfer to check in at hotel for refreshment.
Pm: This afternoon, you are free to relax at hotel or walk around for more refreshment. Then at evening, enjoy buffet dinner with Cambodian Cultural Show at Amazon Angkor. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 4: Angkor Temple Tours. O/n in Siem Reap
Am: Have breakfast at hotel. This morning, we drive to the antique capital of Angkor Thom, start from the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Have lunch at the restaurant.
Pm: Continue to explore Angkor Wat the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Last but not least, view a wonderful sunset from Angkor Wat or somewhere possible. Free to have your own dinner. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 5: BengMealea Temple – Tonle Sap Lake. O/n in Siem Reap
Am: Wake up and prepare for a fascinating visit to the mysterious temple of BengMealea, which is 65 km far from Siem Reap. When you finish your breakfast, our guide will pick you up at the hotel and we then head towards the East to reach BengMelea Temple, which was built during the 12th century during the reign of King Suryavarman II, at about the same time as Angkor Wat of which its layout and style closely mirror. However, BengMelea is completely ruined and largely overrun by vegetation and competes with Ta Prohm for the “lost in the jungle” ambience. The temple is covered by trees, lichen-covered stones, broken towers and galleries. Absolutely, you will be deeply impressed by many sculptures which are hidden among the rubble and the vegetation. Have lunch at local restaurant before return to the city.
Pm: This afternoon we drive to ChhongKhneas village, the floating village located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Visit the village and take an excursion in a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia’s biggest natural water body and, one of the largest in Asia. The experience is wonderful as we pass by floating village, friendly children in small boats and fisherment. Free to have your own dinner. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 6: Siem Reap Departure
Free until transfer to Siem Reap International airport for boarding home sweet home or next destination.
